Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes: AFC Divisional Round Drop

The Bills and Chiefs are set to face off next weekend, in a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship game. Last year, the Chiefs beat them handily to earn a spot in the Super Bowl.

However, when they met early this season, the Bills smoked the Chiefs. Josh Allen led them with 315 yards passing and 3 touchdowns, to go along with 59 yards rushing and another touchdown.

Since that game, however, the Chiefs have gotten very hot.

Allen and Mahomes are two of the best QB’s in the league right now. So, of course, when their respective teams meet in the playoffs, we drop their cards.

I can’t tell you how the game will go next weekend, but I can tell you why these cards are special.

Let’s get into it….

2017 Panini Select #247 Patrick Mahomes II Silver Prizm PSA 10

Field Level Prizm + “RC”

First of all, Field Level Prizm is the top of the top when it comes to Select Football. Nothing beats it.

The “RC” on the card indicates it is indeed a true Rookie card. The design of the card features an action image, with bold colors and designs in the background. The shiny silver finish adds the final touch to a beautifully designed card.

PSA 10 POP 93

Clearly, this card is a PSA 10. It is also POP 93, meaning there are only 93 PSA 10 grades of this card in existence.

A PSA 10 with this type of rarity, for this type of player? Say no more…

We’re talking about PATRICK MAHOMES

It’s easy to go on and on about Mahomes, and just how special he is. So, we’re going to do just that!

Mahomes, in just his fourth year as a starter, already has one Super Bowl, one Super Bowl MVP, and one MVP. He also has another Super Bowl appearance to his name, just last year.

Mahomes has the most touchdown passes for a QB through his first 60 games, with 149. He has his team as a perennial Super Bowl contender AND he’s only 26 years old.

It’s common these days with so much media coverage everywhere for hyperbole to be thrown around about specific players. It’s hard to categorize anything said about Mahomes as hyperbole because he is really THAT good.

In the wild card match up against the Steelers, Mahomes lit it up, throwing for 404 yards and 5 touchdowns in the blowout.

Aiming for his third consecutive Super Bowl appearance, there are few players better to collect right now than Mahomes.

2018 Panini Contenders #105A Josh Allen Rookie Ticket Autograph PSA 10

Rookie Ticket Autograph Card

Contender cards have a rich history in the hobby. They have been around since 1993, and Rookie Tickets were introduced in 1998. It has become a staple for all football card collectors.

The Rookie Ticket Autograph card is special because, well, it has a rookie ticket insert and an autograph.

The “RC” stamp indicates a true rookie card. Plus, this card is a No Feet variation, a special variation of this card that does not show his feet.

PSA 10 POP 133

A PSA 10, with only 133 of this card in existence. If you are a collector, rare Josh Allen PSA 10’s are a pretty good place to start.

It’s JOSH ALLEN

Allen is easily one of the top quarterbacks in the league. At just 25 years old, Allen has gotten off to a very strong start in his NFL career.

After leading the Bills to the AFC Championship last year, he finds himself in another matchup with the Chiefs a year later, albeit in the Divisional round.

Allen is a nightmare for defenses. He’s thrown for 73 touchdowns over the past two seasons. At 6 ft 5 in, and 240 lbs, he is equally scary as a runner. He’s already run for 31 touchdowns in his four seasons in the league.

In the Wild Card Round of the playoffs, the performance of the Bills offense was basically the equivalent to a perfect game in baseball. The Bills scored on every possession, except the final one when they kneeled because the game was over.

Allen threw for 308 yards and 5 touchdowns. He added another 66 yards with his legs.

Allen and the Bills look like they will be competing for Super Bowls for many years to come. Collecting Allen is a no brainer.

These are two of the most exciting quarterbacks in the league. It seems they are already cooking up a bit of a rivalry, as they prepare to meet in the playoffs for the second season in a row.
